Senior Practitioner - Child Protection - Birmingham

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner in Child Protection to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead assessments, manage complex cases, and provide guidance to junior staff, ensuring that our interventions are effective and in line with statutory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and developing care plans for children and families.
• Managing a caseload of complex child protection cases with a focus on safeguarding.
• Providing supervision and support to less experienced social workers and students.
• Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to child welfare.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A relevant social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
