Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a specialist low and medium secure rehabilitation service supporting adult male patients detained under the Mental Health Act. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist looking to further develop specialist skills within a highly supportive multidisciplinary environment, working with individuals requiring extended rehabilitation and recovery-focused care. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting independence, occupational engagement, and meaningful participation through evidence-based assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for new admissions and ongoing rehabilitation needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions using recognised occupational therapy models including MOHO (Model of Human Occupation).
  • Manage a specialist caseload, planning and evaluating interventions aligned to care plans and recovery goals.
  • Support patients to develop coping strategies, independence, and life skills for everyday functioning.
  • Attend ward rounds, CPA meetings, MDT discussions, and contribute to risk assessments and formulations.
