Cornwall require a Principal Social Worker to join the Family Help Team based in Hayle in west Cornwall. This is a 3-month long-term contract, 37 hours a week, with a pay rate of £42. Flexible working is available.

The Principal Social Worker in a Family Help team must have strong experience in providing practice oversight within a statutory children's services context, including supporting social workers to manage risk, make defensible decisions, and progress cases effectively. They must be confident in delivering reflective supervision, quality assuring casework, and supporting staff through change following service restructure.
A sound understanding of the Family Help model, safeguarding thresholds, and multi-agency working is essential, alongside the ability to mentor less experienced practitioners, promote consistent practice standards, and work collaboratively with Team Managers and Family Help Coordinators to maintain safe, timely, and child-focused practice within large and complex teams.
You will be Social Work England registered & a Qualified Social Worker, ideally a driver with access to your own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
