The predicted salary is between 38.7 - 47.3 Β£ per hour.

Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join the Leaving Care Service at Peterborough City Council. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social work professional to take on a varied role, combining direct work with care-experienced young people alongside providing skilled practice support to Personal Advisers working with more complex circumstances.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Holding a small caseload of care-experienced young people and providing high-quality statutory social work support.
  • Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes as they transition into adulthood and independent living.
  • Providing skilled practice guidance and support to Personal Advisers managing complex circumstances.
  • Supporting effective care planning, pathway planning and transition arrangements.
  • Assessing needs, identifying risks and ensuring appropriate support is in place.
  • Working collaboratively with young people, families, Personal Advisers and partner agencies.
  • Providing advice and professional challenge where required to promote good social work practice.
  • Contributing to safeguarding and risk management processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Supporting the development of good practice across the Leaving Care Service.

Essential Requirements

  • Social Work degree or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within children's social care.
  • Experience working with care leavers / care-experienced young people.
  • Strong knowledge of leaving care services, pathway planning and transition to adulthood.
  • Experience managing complex cases and providing professional guidance to colleagues.
  • Strong assessment, safeguarding, care planning and multi-agency working skills.
  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
