Location: Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, Central Milton Keynes

Rate: £40 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Pattern: Office-based with up to 2 days working from home

Role Overview

Milton Keynes Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Team Manager - Adult Social Care to support frontline operational delivery within a busy assessment and duty environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring effective case allocation, workload management, and professional oversight within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising social workers and social work assistants
  • Allocating and prioritising cases effectively
  • Managing and monitoring waiting lists
  • Attending professionals' meetings and multi-agency discussions
  • Holding case discussions and providing practice guidance
  • Supporting service delivery within a busy Adult Social Care environment

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • SWE registration (or eligible to register)
  • Significant experience in Adult Social Care
  • Previous supervisory or team management experience
  • Strong understanding of assessment, safeguarding, and duty processes
