Role Overview
As an Engineering Technician, you will work closely with lecturers and students to set up, maintain, and support practical engineering sessions across a range of engineering disciplines. You will ensure equipment is safe, functional, and ready for use while providing technical expertise and guidance where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain engineering workshop
- Support practical sessions, demonstrating the safe use of tools and machinery
- Assist staff and students with technical problems and project setups
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all practical areas
- Monitor and manage the inventory of equipment, tools, and materials
Essential Skills & Experience
- Relevant technical qualification in engineering or a related discipline
- Hands‑on experience working in an engineering workshop environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Previous experience in an educational or training setting is desirable
- DBS check required for this role
