Eden Brown are seeking a dedicated Science Technician with a Chemistry specialism to join a leading Sixth Form team in Manchester.

This temporary position provides an excellent opportunity to support our students and enhance their learning experience within a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for chemistry lessons, ensuring a smooth practical learning experience.
  • Maintain and organise chemical stock and supplies, ensuring proper storage and safety protocols are followed.
  • Support the delivery of chemistry practicals, offering technical assistance to both teachers and students.
  • Ensure that all safety standards and procedures are adhered to, with a focus on chemical safety and lab regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of chemistry lab equipment and apparatus.
  • Ensure that the chemistry laboratories are always fully stocked and in optimal condition for practical sessions.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A strong passion for science and education, with a particular focus on chemistry.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in supporting practical science lessons, particularly in chemistry.
  • A science-related background or qualifications (e.g A-Levels in Chemistry).
  • Experience working with young adults in an educational setting.

A DBS check is required for this role.
