Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to support CAMHS inpatient services in Birmingham. This role involves delivering highly specialised psychological assessment and CBT-based interventions to children and young people presenting with complex and co-morbid mental health conditions within an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist CBT assessment and evidence-based interventions
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments
- Develop collaborative psychological formulations
- Provide treatment for complex CAMHS presentations including:
- Complex trauma
- Eating disorders
- Severe anxiety
- Suicidality
- Psychosis
- Bipolar disorder
- Neurodiversity
- Work closely within a multidisciplinary team including Psychiatry, Nursing, OT, SaLT, Family Therapy and Psychology
- Provide input to care planning and discharge pathways
- Work autonomously within professional and clinical guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Essential Requirements
- BABCP accredited (or working towards)
- Experience delivering CBT within CAMHS
- Experience working with complex and high-risk presentations
- Experience within inpatient or acute settings
- Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
