Overview
Children & Family Health Devon (CFHD) are urgently seeking an experienced Band 6 Senior Children's Occupational Therapist to support their community statutory service. This role focuses on complex social care cases, including equipment provision and environmental adaptation assessments for children and young people aged 0-18 years.
The successful candidate will work across community settings in Devon and must have statutory / social care OT experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of children and young people within a defined locality
- Undertake statutory OT assessments for equipment and adaptation support
- Complete community-based visits (homes, schools, clinics)
- Deliver specialist OT interventions using a strengths-based, evidence-based approach
- Provide recommendations for:
- Adaptive equipment
- Environmental and housing adaptations
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, health and social care professionals
- Use recognised outcome measures and contribute to care planning and reviews
Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
- Proven experience within:
- Statutory / social care OT
- Community paediatric services
- Confident completing:
- Equipment assessments
- Environmental adaptation reports
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential)
- Knowledge of local authority systems (e.g. Mosaic, Liquidlogic) desirable
