Job Overview
Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist Community Stroke and Neuro pathway service in East London. This role focuses on delivering specialist SLT intervention to adults following stroke and other neurological conditions, working across Early Supported Discharge (ESD), inpatient stroke services and community neuro pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to adults post-stroke.
- Manage acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Assess and treat dysphagia in line with current clinical guidelines.
- Manage and prioritise a complex caseload independently.
- Work collaboratively with stroke and neuro MDT teams.
- Provide advice and training to carers, families and volunteers.
- Assess and recommend Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems.
- Provide supervision and support to junior colleagues.
- Develop and deliver training to MDT colleagues.
- Liaise with voluntary and non-statutory agencies to develop long-term support options.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong Community and Neuro experience
- Experience managing post-stroke caseloads
- Dysphagia competencies
- Ability to work autonomously within MDT settings
