We are a UK-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with brain injuries. Our network of assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals offers expert neurorehabilitation services that support individuals in regaining lost skills due to brain injuries. We provide care to individuals who have sustained brain injuries from various causes, including trauma, illness, and substance abuse, helping them to meet their personal recovery goals.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our multi‑disciplinary team in Leeds, working with individuals with acquired brain injuries. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a neurorehabilitation environment, providing expert psychological input and collaborating with a dedicated team to improve the lives of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments of adults with acquired brain injuries, using a range of clinical tools, tests, and structured observations.
  • Formulate and implement individualised treatment plans based on current evidence‑based best practices for neurorehabilitation.
  • Coordinate care for service users, assuming the role of keyworker / clinical lead where appropriate.
  • Lead and deliver a range of psychological and therapeutic interventions (individual, family, and group modalities), tailored to the needs of the service user and their social context.
  • Contribute expert psychological advice to multidisciplinary care plans, providing specialist input on therapeutic approaches and intervention strategies.
  • Undertake psychological risk assessments, advising the team on appropriate risk management.
  • Ensure high standards of clinical record keeping, adhering to organisational and professional guidelines.
  • Consult with and provide psychological guidance to the families and carers of service users.
  • Participate in ongoing research and contribute to the constant improvement of service delivery.
  • Engage in the training and professional development of colleagues and contribute to the professional development of the team.
  • Participate in on‑call support for the unit on a rota basis.
Person SpecificationEssential
  • Degree in Psychology, accepted by the British Psychological Society for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or equivalent qualification to meet HCPC registration requirements.
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and clinical best practices concerning brain injury rehabilitation.
  • Ability to manage and analyse complex clinical information and work within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively with service users who may exhibit challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Desirable
  • Experience in neuropsychology or neurorehabilitation settings.
  • Previous experience in research or service development within neuropsychology or rehabilitation.
  • Interest in working within a neuropsychology setting or conducting research in neuropsychology.
