Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker for Children In Need (CIN Team) with Leicester City Council. Location: 93 Charles Street, Halford Street, Leicester, LE1 1FQ, United Kingdom
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5:00pm | Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm (with the possibility of out-of-hours or duty tasks as required)
Hybrid Working: On-site Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with flexibility to work additional days as agreed with the Team Manager.
About the Role: Leicester City Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children In Need (CIN) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for social workers who have strong experience in court work and child protection, and are committed to safeguarding children and supporting families in need. The CIN Team is our most pressured area, and we need professionals who thrive in challenging environments and can manage complex cases effectively. Your role will be vital in ensuring the safety and welfare of children across the city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out assessments and develop care plans for children and families.
- Represent the local authority in court proceedings and child protection cases.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20 cases (with some flexibility depending on workload).
- Work as part of a collaborative, supportive team to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff and colleagues when needed.
- Engage with children, families, and multi-agency partners to create tailored interventions.
- Ensure all tasks and documentation are completed to a high standard, within set deadlines.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in court work and child protection is essential for this role.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and working in partnership with families.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage a caseload effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- A Social Work qualification (Degree, Masters, or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach.
