Eden Brown are seeking an enthusiastic Maths GCSE Lecturer for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire. This is a part-time temporary role to start as soon as possible until the end of February but potentially for the full academic year.
Hours are:
- Tuesday – 8:30am – 4:15pm
- Wednesday – 8:30am – 4:15pm
- Thursday – 8:30am – 4:15pm
Role Overview
As a GCSE Maths Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons to post-16 learners, supporting students of varying abilities to progress and succeed. The role is temporary and may be full-time or part-time, depending on the college's requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality GCSE Maths teaching in line with awarding body specifications
- Plan and prepare lessons that meet individual learner needs
- Assess, mark and provide constructive feedback on learner progress
- Support learners to re-sit and achieve GCSE Maths at grade 4 / C or above
- Maintain accurate records in line with college and awarding body requirements
- Contribute positively to the wider maths and student support teams
Essential Requirements
- GCSE Maths at grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths in an FE or secondary setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A learner-focused, supportive approach to teaching
Desirable
- Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths alongside GCSE
- Knowledge of current GCSE Maths specifications
- Experience working with post-16 learners in FE
Candidates must have a DBS on the update service.
