Eden Brown are seeking an experienced Learning Support Worker to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a Further Education College in West Yorkshire. This full‑time temporary role starts as soon as possible and offers the chance to help learners achieve their academic and personal goals in a supportive college environment.
Role Overview
As a Learning Support Worker, you will work closely with students requiring additional support within the classroom and around the college. You will assist learners with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to SEN learners
- Support students within classroom settings and practical activities
- Encourage learner independence, confidence, and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional support where required
- Monitor and record learner progress
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting learners with SEN is essential
- Experience within a Further Education, education, or support setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff
- Current DBS on the update service
