Are you an experienced Social Worker or Senior Practitioner with experience working with older people and mental health? Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for a Senior Practitioner to join the Older People Mental Health Team in East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social work professional to take on complex cases, provide specialist input and support the development and supervision of other practitioners within the team.

Main Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will undertake a full range of social work responsibilities, providing senior-level professional expertise in complex cases and specialist areas. You will also provide supervision and professional support to Social Workers, Resource Officers, Assessors, students, trainees and other team members as delegated by the Practice Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload, including assessments, risk management, care planning and reviews.
  • Provide senior social work expertise and specialist advice.
  • Work closely with partner agencies and community services.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and professional support to Social Workers, students and other staff.
  • Support safeguarding investigations and act as a Safeguarding Investigating Manager when required.
  • Contribute to service development and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Ensure high-quality case recording, reports and court work where required.
  • Support effective referrals, assessments, case planning and review processes.
  • Assist the Practice Manager with staff development, training needs and induction.

Requirements

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
  • Relevant professional Social Work qualification.
  • Previous experience working within Adult Social Care and/or Older People's Mental Health.
  • Experience managing complex cases, assessments, risk and safeguarding.
  • Experience providing supervision, mentoring or professional support to other practitioners.
  • Strong communication, report-writing and partnership-working skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
