An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join a dedicated Children & Families Safeguarding Team covering the South Kesteven East District, including Grantham, Stamford, Bourne and surrounding rural areas. This is a rewarding frontline safeguarding role where you will manage cases from referral through to closure, providing continuity and consistency for children and families throughout their journey.
You will be responsible for:
- Completing Child & Family Assessments where safeguarding concerns have been identified
- Undertaking Section 47 investigations
- Managing Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans
- Preparing assessments and reports for court proceedings within both public and private law
- Supporting children and families through care proceedings where required
- Holding cases from referral through to closure, ensuring no change of social worker throughout the process
The team operates a three-week duty rota: 1 week on duty - office-based 5 days per week, responding to new referrals and conducting initial visits. And then 2 weeks off duty - hybrid working with an expectation of 2-3 days in the office. The main office base is in Grantham, with occasional working from Bourne during duty weeks.
To be considered, you must have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Social Work England registration
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in a permanent frontline safeguarding role
- Experience completing Section 47 investigations
- Strong assessment, safeguarding and court work experience
- The ability to manage complex caseloads independently
