Occupational Therapy Team Manager - Independent Living Service
Location: Gateshead Council Civic Centre, NE8 1HH
Pay Rate: £31.87-£33.93 per hour
Contract: Maternity Leave Cover
Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join Gateshead Council's Independent Living Service.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Significant recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist, ideally within a local authority, social care or community setting.
- Previous team management or leadership experience within an Occupational Therapy service.
- Experience managing workloads, staff performance, risk and complex cases.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, statutory requirements, quality assurance and risk management.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
- Ability to produce management reports and monitor service performance.
- Experience supporting staff development through supervision and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and line manage the Occupational Therapy team, setting targets and supporting continuous professional development.
- Manage workload, competing demands and allocation of cases effectively.
- Oversee team action plans, risk assessments, safeguarding and statutory compliance.
- Ensure high-quality practice through case audits, quality assurance and monitoring of OT treatment plans and documentation.
- Develop effective partnerships with internal and external agencies to support integrated service delivery.
- Manage recruitment, attendance, employee relations, occupational health and disciplinary processes where required.
- Prepare and present performance, management and business reports.
- Monitor budgets and promote cost-effective service delivery.
- Provide reflective supervision and development support to Senior Practitioners.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures across the service.
- Respond to complex and high-risk complaints.
- Deputise for the Service Manager when required.
