We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fostering Social Worker to join a dedicated fostering team within a progressive local authority in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting foster carers and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people in care. Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers, including Form F assessments.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, support, and annual reviews for approved foster carers.
  • Ensure foster carers are fully equipped to meet the needs of children and young people in placement.
  • Work collaboratively with children's social workers, virtual schools, and partner agencies.
  • Participate in fostering panel processes and contribute to decision-making.
  • Support placement stability and promote positive outcomes for looked after children.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
  • Safeguard children and ensure all practice is compliant with fostering regulations and national standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within a fostering service or children in care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience in completing Form F assessments and supporting foster carers.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
