Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for making a real difference in children\’s lives? Cafcass is seeking a dedicated Locum Family Court Advisor to join our Private Law team in London or Croydon.
In private law cases, when there is no agreement regarding child arrangements after the first court hearing, or where welfare concerns arise, the court may direct Cafcass to complete a Section 7 report. These reports are crucial in helping judges make safe, informed decisions for children.
As part of this role, the responsibility for preparing Section 7 reports will transfer to the WAFH (Work After First Hearing) team, where you will play a key part in assessing family situations and providing clear, evidence-based recommendations to the court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments and prepare high-quality Section 7 reports within court timescales.
- Work directly with children and families to understand their circumstances and views.
- Analyse information to provide balanced recommendations that prioritise the child\’s welfare.
- Liaise with partner agencies and attend court as required.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Previous experience in family court or statutory children\’s services.
- Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet tight deadlines.
