Suffolk County Council is currently recruiting experienced Senior Qualified Social Workers (QSWs) to join their Child Protection (CP) / Child in Need (CIN) teams across multiple localities. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive Local Authority offering flexible working arrangements and a choice of teams with varying caseload levels.

Available Teams & Caseloads

  • Coastal North Social Care Team - Average caseload: 25
  • Ipswich Locality Team - Average caseload: 25-30
  • Forest Heath Social Care Team - Average caseload: 30
  • Haverhill Social Care Team - Average caseload: 30
  • Stowmarket Team - Average caseload: 40

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing Child & Family Assessments
  • Managing Child in Need (CIN) plans and reviews
  • Chairing and attending CIN meetings
  • Undertaking Child Protection work
  • Writing Section 7 reports
  • Working closely with multi-agency professionals
  • Ensuring accurate and timely case recording

Working Pattern

  • 3 days per week in the office
  • Hybrid working model
  • Condensed hours over 4 days considered

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years PQE in UK Local Authorities
  • Social Work England registration
  • Strong experience in Child Protection and Child in Need
  • Experience completing assessments and court-related reports (Section 7)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
