Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Biomedical Scientist in the field of Microbiology to join the team at Nobles Hospital. This is a temporary position offering the opportunity to contribute to the high standards of healthcare services on the Isle of Man.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic testing in microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, and parasitology.
  • Process specimens and analyse results in a laboratory setting.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring high levels of safety and quality control.
  • Participate in the identification of microbial pathogens and provide relevant reports.
  • Ensure all laboratory practices comply with safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of test results.
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory work, adhering to data protection and confidentiality guidelines.

Special Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.
  • IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology.
  • Recent UK experience in microbiology or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
