Derby City Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Adults Safeguarding Team within Adult Social Care. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting adults at risk, working within a well-established and supportive safeguarding team.

You will play a key role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of adults, carrying out safeguarding enquiries, managing risk, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure high standards of care and protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory duties and local procedures.
  • Assess, plan, and implement appropriate interventions to protect adults at risk.
  • Work collaboratively with health, police, housing, and voluntary agencies to coordinate effective responses.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with professional and local standards.
  • Provide professional advice and support to colleagues and partner agencies regarding safeguarding issues.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience in Adult Safeguarding or a similar statutory social work role.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and risk management skills.
  • Willing and able to work from the Council House in Derby as your main work base.
