Overview
We are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a newly established, nurse-led residential mental health service supporting adults with complex and enduring mental health needs. This is an opportunity to play a central role in shaping and developing a new service model within a psychologically informed, recovery-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall clinical responsibility for a defined caseload
- Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, complex risk reviews and CPA meetings
- Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, formulation and evidence-based treatment
- Oversee referral, admission and discharge pathways
- Ensure robust risk management, safeguarding and continuity of care
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching
- Contribute to audit, governance and service development
Essential Criteria
- CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Approved Clinician status
- Experience acting as Responsible Clinician
- Substantial experience managing complex mental health presentations
- Strong knowledge of NICE guidance and UK mental health legislation
- Demonstrable clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams
