Eden Brown are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Plumbing & Gas Assessor to join the team at a leading further education college in Lancashire. The successful candidate will deliver practical and theory-based training, assess student competence, and support learners to achieve industry-recognised qualifications. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students' careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and verify student competency in plumbing and gas installation, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Deliver practical demonstrations and classroom-based theory sessions.
- Take part in on-site visits.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of student progress and assessment outcomes.
- Support learners in achieving qualifications such as NVQs, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of curriculum and assessment methods.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a qualified plumber and gas engineer.
- Recognised assessing qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement).
- Strong knowledge of current plumbing and gas regulations (Gas Safe registration required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and support learners with diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- A DBS check is required for this role.
