Birmingham Children's Trust is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Child Protection / Child in Need Team.
Location: One Avenue Road, Aston
Pay Rate: Β£30.57 per hour (Umbrella)
Note: There is an expectation that workers are office based 2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need cases, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and identify risks, needs and appropriate interventions.
- Develop, implement and review effective Child Protection and Child in Need plans.
- Work collaboratively with children, families and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensure children's wishes, feelings, safety and welfare remain central to all decisions and interventions.
- Prepare and present high-quality reports for child protection conferences, reviews, court proceedings and other professional meetings.
- Maintain accurate, timely and evidence-based case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
- Monitor risks and case progression, taking appropriate action and escalating concerns where required.
- Participate in supervision, reflective practice and team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of social work practice.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
