We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner - Child in Care to join our dynamic team in Birmingham.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and young people in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
You will work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external agencies to create and implement effective care plans that meet the individual needs of each child.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in partnership with children, families, and relevant stakeholders.
- Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and ensuring compliance with statutory and organizational policies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic planning for child welfare.
- The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e. g., CQSW, Dip SW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and working with children in care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
