Birmingham Children's Trust is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Practice Supervisor to join their Family Help Teams.

Pay Rate

£33.30 per hour (Umbrella)

Note

2 days office minimum

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide casework oversight, guidance and professional support to Social Workers and Lead Practitioners within the Family Help Team.
  • Undertake and oversee high-quality assessments, ensuring children and families receive appropriate, needs-led support.
  • Provide reflective supervision and professional challenge to practitioners, supporting good-quality decision-making and practice.
  • Oversee Family Help, Early Help and Child in Need work, ensuring plans are appropriate, timely and focused on positive outcomes.
  • Support practitioners in managing complex cases and safeguarding concerns, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and appropriately escalated.
  • Monitor case progression and ensure assessments, plans, reviews and interventions are completed within required timescales.
  • Work collaboratively with Team Managers and multi-agency partners, ensuring services are coordinated around the needs of children and families.
  • Promote strengths-based, relationship-focused and child-centred practice, ensuring children's wishes, feelings and welfare remain central to decision‑making.
  • Maintain high standards of case recording, analysis and statutory compliance in line with Birmingham Children's Trust procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of practice across the team through quality assurance, learning and professional development.

Essential Requirements

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
