Birmingham Women's & Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 7 or Band 8a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join its CAMHS Inpatient Mental Health Service. This is a key clinical role within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting young people and their families through high-quality, evidence-based systemic practice.
The post holder will deliver specialist family therapy interventions, contribute to MDT care planning, and support the wider team through consultation, supervision, and reflective practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist systemic assessments and family therapy interventions.
- Work closely with young people and families within an inpatient CAMHS setting.
- Participate in MDT meetings, ward rounds, CPAs, and care planning.
- Provide consultation, reflective practice, and supervision to clinical staff.
- Support staff wellbeing, development, and training across the service.
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and governance.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified and registered Family & Systemic Psychotherapist.
- Significant experience working within CAMHS or inpatient mental health services.
- Strong MDT working and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Fully compliant for agency work.
- Must be registered with an umbrella company (PAYE umbrella only).

- Rates must align with NHSi capped rates for the relevant band.
