Birmingham City Council is currently seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist with strong experience in Manual Handling to join their Adult Social Care team on a locum basis.
Key Details
- Rate: £31.97 per hour
- Hybrid Working: Primarily home-based with one visit per week to Sparkbrook
- Location: Working from home with home visits across Birmingham to citizens' properties
- Contract Length: 3 months
- Start Date: Immediate start required
Role Overview
The successful candidate will undertake duties similar to a standard Occupational Therapist role but will primarily work with more complex cases, focusing on manual handling assessments and providing specialist support to citizens in their homes. You will be responsible for assessing needs, recommending appropriate equipment and interventions, and ensuring safe manual handling practices to support independence and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Experience and strong knowledge of Manual Handling assessments
- At least 1 year post-qualification experience
- Experience working with complex cases within Adult Social Care
- Strong assessment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to carry out home visits across Birmingham
- Availability to start immediately
