We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join our dynamic Fostering Team in Birmingham.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the recruitment, training, and support of foster carers, ensuring that children in care receive the highest standard of care and support.
Key responsibilities and duties include
- Supervising and supporting foster carers to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Conducting assessments and reviews of foster placements to ensure the well‑being of children.
- Providing training and professional development opportunities for foster carers.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies.
- The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognised social work qualification (e. g., BA/MA in Social Work, Dip SW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in fostering or child protection settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
