Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Child Protection/Children in Need (CP/CIN) Team in Birmingham.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families.

As a Senior QSW, you will lead assessments, provide expert guidance to junior staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.

Your commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and families will be essential in this challenging yet rewarding position.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing intervention plans for children and families in need.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local authority policies.
  • Collaborating with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers to coordinate services.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A recognized social work qualification (e. g., CQSW, Dip SW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
