Birmingham Children’s Trust is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Children With Disabilities Team.
Location: 1 Lancaster Circus, Birmingham, B4 7DJ
Pay Rate: £30.57 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities
- Holding a caseload of Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989 and children subject to Child Protection Plans
- Undertaking Initial Assessments
- Undertaking Core Assessments
- Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries
- Undertaking Parenting Assessments
- Undertaking Risk Assessments
- Undertaking Educational Needs Assessments
- Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
- Liaising/Working closely with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/young people's needs
- Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
- Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
- Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
- Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
- Reviewing Financial payments received by kinship carers or carers granted Residence Orders/Special Guardianship Orders
- Organising/managing packages of support
- Organising/managing packages of care
- Arranging short breaks
- Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need
- Attending court and giving evidence when required
- Initiating Care Proceedings
- Completion of Care Proceedings
Essential Requirements
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
