Birmingham Children's Trust is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Pre-Birth Team.

Location: New Aston House, B19 2RL

Pay rate: £30.57 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive support to parents who have had previous child removals, working collaboratively to achieve safe outcomes for babies to remain with parents.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of parental capacity, identifying strengths, needs, and risks within the pre-birth context.
  • Develop and implement tailored care plans and interventions to support families in making positive changes for the safety and wellbeing of their child.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, to provide coordinated care and support.
  • Build trusting and respectful relationships with parents, ensuring a child-centred approach to practice at all times.
  • Maintain accurate case records, ensuring clear, up-to-date documentation in line with legal requirements and organisational standards.
  • Attend and contribute to planning and review meetings, providing professional assessments and recommendations.
  • Provide a reduced caseload, allowing for more intensive support to families in need.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and reflective practice to continually improve skills and professional development.
  • Promote hybrid working, balancing office-based and remote working to suit the needs of the team and families.
  • Be a committed advocate for babies and children, ensuring their best interests are consistently prioritised in all aspects of casework.

Essential Requirements

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
