We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and autonomous Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care OT Hub in Sutton.
The successful candidate will manage a caseload involving moving and handling, equipment and adaptation needs, helping residents maximise their independence and achieve their desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for and work with individuals, families, carers, groups and communities to assess their needs and circumstances.
- Plan, carry out, review and evaluate social work practice with individuals, families, carers, groups, communities and other professionals.
- Support individuals to represent their needs, views and circumstances.
- Manage and be accountable, with supervision and support, for your own professional practice.
- Carry out strengths-based Occupational Therapy assessments and make recommendations to promote independence.
- Recommend major and minor adaptations, including DFG-related work, and prescribe assistive equipment.
- Assess complex moving and handling needs and implement safe practices.
- Work on the OT Duty Desk, screening referrals and addressing immediate OT needs.
- Complete housing reports and void visits.
- Work within and in accordance with Adult Social Care policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate professional competence and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding requirements.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Minimum 2 years' Occupational Therapy experience.
- Experience in major adaptations/DFG processes and complex moving and handling.
- Ability to travel across the borough by car or public transport.
