Eden Brown Synergy are delighted to collaborate with a NHS organisation based in Croydon who are seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join their HR team, with a dedicated focus on sickness and absence management. The role is initially for 4 months, and hybrid working (4 days on site, 1 day WFH).
About the Role:
You will be the go-to expert for managing sickness absence cases and providing proactive support to managers and employees, as well as playing a critical role in driving attendance strategies, improving wellbeing outcomes, and ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end case management support on sickness absence, including long-term and complex cases.
- Coach and advise managers on absence-related issues, capability procedures, and return-to-work plans.
- Analyse absence trends and support in developing proactive strategies to reduce absence rates.
- Collaborate with Occupational Health, Wellbeing, and Health & Safety teams to deliver holistic support.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure legal and policy compliance.
- Assist in updating absence management policies and delivering related training.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in an ER advisory role, with a strong track record in managing sickness and absence cases.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices related to absence and capability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.
- Confident, compassionate, and solutions-focused approach.
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
