Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join its Fostering Family & Friends Assessment Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated fostering service, completing high-quality Family & Friends and Connected Persons assessments that help children remain within their family networks wherever safe and appropriate.

The Role

  • Undertake comprehensive Family & Friends and Connected Persons assessments.
  • Complete viability assessments and Special Guardianship assessments where required.
  • Prepare clear, analytical court-standard reports.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to positive permanence planning and outcomes for children.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with the Social Work England.
  • Minimum 3 years permanent post-qualification Social Work experience in line with DfE agency worker requirements.
  • Previous experience within fostering, connected persons, kinship, or assessment services.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and relationship-building skills.
