We are currently recruiting experienced Residential Support Workers to provide locum cover within a Children's Residential Home supporting young people with learning disabilities and additional needs. This service provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people, focusing on emotional well-being, independence, education, and life skills development.
Main Duties
- Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities in a residential setting
- Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour
- Encouraging participation in education, activities, and community engagement
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Following care plans and safeguarding procedures at all times
- Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team and external professionals
- Maintaining accurate daily records and incident reports where required
Requirements
- Previous experience within children's residential services or supported living
- Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
- Comfortable working within a 24/7 rota including days, nights, weekends, and possible sleep-ins
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
