Social Worker required to join the Children's Response (Assessment) Team in the South Gloucestershire area based near the vibrant city of Bristol. Competitive rates up to £41ph. 37 hours a week. 3 - 6 months contract then reviewed. This job is hybrid but you must be able to regularly come to the office and visit children and families; no accommodation or mileage costs are paid to and from work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social worker to join this busy front line Children's Assessment Team. You will need previous experience of working within the Assessment setting in Social Care. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the duty rota - currently one week on when you will be expected to be on site and 2 weeks hybrid - managing your own diary and visits as required.

Key duties will include:

  • Initial assessments and section 47 Child Protection investigations
  • Care planning
  • Report writing
  • Case management of vulnerable children and families

You will hold all open cases of ongoing family support and children subject to a child protection plan until the point of discharge or transfer of care to long term safeguarding teams. Candidates will be managing a diverse and complex caseload within deadlines. Constant contact is required with all teams across Children's & Families Services and external agencies to address children and their families' needs with best possible outcomes.

Management supervision will allow for identification of professional development and training that would be beneficial personally and to the team as a whole. South Gloucestershire provide an Ofsted rated Good service, we are seeking additional driven professionals to help us to collectively maintain and build on this for the ongoing betterment of the children and young people of South Gloucestershire.

Ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
