Type: Temporary - Full Time

Eden Brown are seeking a dedicated and practical Engineering Technician for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.

This is a full time temporary role to start asap for ongoing cover

Working within the colleges engineering workshops, you will play a key role in supporting lecturers and students across a range of engineering disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional or technician who enjoys working in an educational environment and helping to develop the next generation of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and organise engineering workshops, tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Support practical teaching sessions by ensuring materials and resources are available and ready for use.
  • Assist lecturers and students during workshop activities where required.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on engineering equipment.
  • Ensure workshop environments comply with health and safety regulations and college procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and order materials, consumables, and equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to equipment servicing, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Support the implementation of safe working practices across all engineering workshop areas.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within an engineering workshop, manufacturing environment, or technical engineering setting.
  • Good understanding of engineering tools, machinery, equipment, and workshop practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to engineering environments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Relevant engineering qualification at Level 3 or above is desirable.
  • Experience supporting education or training environments would be advantageous but is not essential. xgikmsk
