Continuous Improvement & Inspection Lead
Working Arrangements: 1 - 2 days (max) in the office, other days home working
The Continuous Improvement and Inspection Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for driving service improvement, inspection readiness, and organisational learning across Children's Services. The postholder will lead strategic improvement activity, oversee self-evaluation and quality assurance processes, and ensure services can demonstrate positive outcomes for children, young people, and families. The role will support the delivery of the Families First Partnership reforms, ensuring learning from audits, inspections, safeguarding reviews, performance data, workforce intelligence, and feedback from children and families is translated into meaningful and sustainable service improvements. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the Children's Services Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance Framework. Ensure ongoing inspection readiness and coordinate responses to Ofsted inspections, monitoring visits, and assurance activities. Drive service-wide self-evaluation, using performance data, audits, and quality assurance findings to assess impact and improve outcomes. Provide strategic advice, support, and challenge to senior leaders around service quality, compliance, risk, and improvement priorities. Lead and monitor improvement plans, ensuring actions are implemented, embedded, and deliver measurable outcomes. Oversee governance and reporting arrangements, providing assurance to senior leaders, elected members, and partnership boards. Evaluate the impact of Families First Partnership reforms and ensure evidence of improved outcomes is clearly demonstrated. Promote organisational learning, reflective practice, workforce development, and continuous improvement. Ensure the voices of children, young people, and families inform service development and improvement activity. Build strong partnerships across agencies to support whole-system improvement and effective multi-agency learning.
