Ede & Ravenscroft is London’s oldest tailor and robemaker, holding Royal Warrants and supplying fine ceremonial and professional attire for over 330 years. We are seeking an exceptional Head Cutter/Senior Cutter to lead and develop bespoke tailoring at our Burlington Gardens store, supporting the continued growth of our bespoke business in the UK and internationally.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced bespoke tailoring professional to represent one of Britain’s most historic heritage brands, working with discerning clients and contributing to the highest standards of traditional craftsmanship.
The Role
Working at the heart of our bespoke tailoring operation, you will provide expert cutting, fitting and client consultation services, while supporting business development and mentoring the next generation of cutters and tailors. The role will involve attending state ceremonies as well as UK and international travel in support of client appointments, trunk shows and business development activity.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and commercially aware bespoke tailoring professional with exceptional technical expertise, strong client relationship skills and a commitment to the highest standards of craftsmanship. You will have:
- At least 10 years’ experience in high-end bespoke tailoring, including time spent as a cutter, and coat maker or apprentice.
- Expert knowledge of bespoke pattern drafting, cutting and full-canvas construction techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills and a warm, professional demeanour suitable for high-profile clients.
- In-depth knowledge of a wide range of materials and how they behave during construction and wear.
- Knowledge of appropriate dress for formal and ceremonial occasions.
- The ability to produce high-quality garments with excellent attention to detail and exacting standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, manage orders and create new patterns where required.
