Role purpose
- Lead and develop bespoke tailoring at Burlington Gardens Store
- Drive the growth of the bespoke business in the UK and internationally
- Deliver exceptional client experience
- Represent the brand at key global locations and events
Key accountabilities or main areas of responsibility
- Cutting
- Customer Consultation & Design: Meeting with customers to advise on style, cloth, and trim, understanding their needs, and taking measurements
- Pattern Drafting & Cutting: Hand-drafting patterns and cutting based on client measurements
- Fitting & Technical Adjustments: Conducting fittings with customers, identifying necessary adjustments and tweaking patterns to achieve a perfect fit.
- Production Oversight: Managing the workflow between the cutting room and tailors and liaising with tailors to ensure items are constructed to exacting standards and ready in a timely manner
- Quality Control: Ensuring every garment is pressed, finished, and refined to the highest level
- Planning workload: managing, processing and documenting orders; liaise and work closely with Chancery Lane bespoke department.
- Travel: Travelling to meet UK and international customers, performing trunk shows
- Mentorship: Training and guiding apprentice cutters and tailors, preserving traditional techniques.
- Business Development
- Build and maintain a portfolio of high-value bespoke clients
- Drive sales growth through appointments, trunk shows and international travel with retail and sales office team
- Identify and develop new markets and client opportunities (UK and overseas)
- Work closely with retail, marketing and sales office to deliver targeted growth plans
- Contribute to pricing, product offering and service development
- State Ceremonies
- Attend state ceremonies to provide dressing and tailoring services
Role Related Expertise at selection – Qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies
- 10+ years of experience in high-end bespoke tailoring, including time spent as a cutter, coat maker, or apprentice
- Expert knowledge of bespoke pattern drafting and cutting skills knowledge of full-canvas construction techniques
- Good customer service skills and a warm, professional demeanour suitable for high profile customers
- In depth knowledge of a wide range of materials and their behaviour
- Knowledge of appropriate dress for formal and ceremonial occasions
- Ability to produce high quality garments with attention to detail
- Ability to work to exacting standards with patterns and the ability to create new patterns
- Organised with the ability to prioritise work.
