We are partnering with a leading global consultancy to recruit into its growing IT & Technology Procurement practice.
This is a client-facing opportunity for an experienced IT procurement professional who wants to combine deep category expertise with consulting and transformation delivery. You will work with major organisations on complex commercial, sourcing and supplier initiatives, helping clients identify opportunities and then taking an active role in delivering measurable outcomes.
This is very much a hands-on consulting role. You will be expected to take ownership, lead workstreams and teams, engage senior stakeholders and apply your procurement expertise to solve complex commercial challenges.
The Role
You will work across a range of client engagements focused on IT procurement, category strategy, strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing teams across global client engagements.
- Developing and executing IT procurement and category strategies.
- Leading complex sourcing and commercial initiatives from opportunity identification through to implementation.
- Conducting supplier research, market analysis and commercial assessments.
- Building robust fact bases and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Identifying opportunities to improve value, supplier performance and commercial outcomes.
- Tracking benefits and ensuring delivery remains aligned with agreed milestones and objectives.
- Working closely with client stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge thinking and align priorities.
- Leading and contributing to workshops, working sessions and senior stakeholder discussions.
- Communicating recommendations and commercial insights clearly to both client and internal teams.
- Supporting the development of high-performing teams and contributing to the continued growth of the wider consulting practice.
About You
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with significant expertise across global IT and technology categories.
You will ideally bring:
- 8+ years' experience within IT procurement, strategic sourcing or category management.
- Strong experience operating across global IT procurement categories.
- Deep subject-matter expertise in Enterprise Software, IT Services and/or Cloud & Hosting.
- Experience managing or influencing significant technology spend portfolios, ideally in excess of $50m annually.
- Strong indirect procurement knowledge and experience delivering complex sourcing and category initiatives.
- Previous consulting experience, or experience working closely with consulting organisations, would be highly advantageous, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Experience leading teams and managing delivery across multiple geographies.
- Strong commercial analysis and Excel capabilities, with the ability to turn data into meaningful business insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- The confidence to operate effectively in complex, fast-moving client environments.
The Opportunity
This role would suit someone who enjoys combining IT procurement expertise with hands-on consulting and client delivery.
You will join a growing international consulting environment where you can take meaningful responsibility, work on complex global engagements and continue developing your career while delivering tangible commercial results for clients.
The organisation operates a flexible working model, with a combination of client-site, office and home-based working. Travel will be required depending on client and project needs.
If you are an experienced IT procurement professional with deep technology category expertise and are looking for a role offering greater exposure to complex consulting engagements, transformation programmes and global clients, we would be keen to hear from you.
