We\’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Solutions Architect to lead the design, planning, and deployment of WarehousePGa modern Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) analytics platform built on the Greenplum engine. You\’ll empower enterprise customers to build high-performance, scalable architectures that support advanced analytics, vector search, and AI/ML workloads.
Working closely with our pre-sales, engineering, and delivery teams, you\’ll guide customers through large-scale deployments and modernization initiatives. This isn\’t just about technical design; it\’s about acting as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable strategies, and ensuring our solutions align with their broader business objectives. This role is ideal for professionals with deep experience in MPP platforms such as Greenplum, Netezza, Vertica, Teradata, or Oracle, and a passion for open-source analytics and AI innovation.
Your impact will be: Architecture Design & Strategy

  • Design and document robust solution architectures for WarehousePG across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with customer business objectives and long-term strategic goals.
  • Define best practices for high-performance computing, High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR), and workload management on MPP clusters.
  • Optimize data models, partitioning, and compression strategies for petabyte-scale efficiency.
  • Architect seamless integration with external storage (e.g., S3, HDFS) using open formats like Parquet, Delta, and Iceberg.

Implementation & Client Advisory

  • Lead architecture workshops with customers, employing active listening to thoroughly understand their business requirements and strategic drivers, then translating them into precise, actionable technical blueprints.
  • Define deployment standards and support the rollout of test and production environments, proactively identifying and mitigating potential technical and operational risks.
  • Provide expert guidance on query optimization, resource sizing, and data distribution for high concurrency environments.
  • Enable in-database ML using PL/Python, MADlib, and AI pipelines, supporting vector database use cases leveraging pgvector or similar tools for similarity search and generative AI workloads.

Cross-Platform Expertise & Modernization

  • Leverage deep experience with legacy platforms (Greenplum, Cloudera, Netezza, Vertica, Teradata, Oracle) to support complex migrations and modernization initiatives.
  • Provide insightful comparative architecture insights and develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies for transition projects.

Documentation & Customer Enablement

  • Deliver comprehensive architecture diagrams, runbooks, and configuration guides, ensuring clarity and precision for both technical and operational teams.
  • Conduct workshops and support customer enablement with operational best practices, acting as a mentor and empowering client teams for successful long-term management and self-sufficiency.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Actively coordinate and foster collaboration between pre-sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure seamless alignment and effective execution of client projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and strategic customers, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Influence and drive consensus in technical discussions with diverse internal and external teams, translating technical complexities into compelling value propositions.

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics platforms, specifically in a Professional Services or client-facing consulting role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Greenplum and MPP architecture.
  • Strong background in at least one: Netezza, Vertica, Teradata, or Oracle Exadata.
  • Proficiency in Linux, PostgreSQL, and scripting (Bash, Python, YAML).
  • Knowledge of observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Extensive experience with HA/DR design and optimizing workloads in large clusters.
  • Exceptional client-facing communication, presentation, and active listening skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (including executive levels).
  • Strong strategic thinking and complex problem-solving abilities, capable of breaking down intricate challenges and proposing innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted relationships with enterprise clients and manage expectations effectively.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive consensus in technical discussions with diverse internal and external teams.
  • A strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality, impactful solutions.

What will set you apart:

  • Advanced certifications in database technologies or cloud platforms (e.g., Greenplum Certified Professional, AWS Database Specialty, Azure Data Engineer).
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, guiding other architects or engineers.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in complex data projects.
