As an Integration-Level Test & Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating High Voltage (HV) Powertrain and Charging systems at system level, ensuring correct interaction between software, hardware, and vehicle-level functions. The role focuses on system integration, HIL testing, and laboratory-based validation, bridging component behaviour with vehicle-level performance. You will work closely with system engineers, software developers, and calibration teams to verify HV system functionality, robustness, and regulatory compliance across HEV, PHEV, and BEV architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute system-level test and validation activities for HV powertrain and charging systems
  • Validate interaction between HV subsystems such as:
    • Energy Management
    • Thermal Management
    • Charging Control (AC/DC, onboard charger, charging communication)
    • Torque Management
    • High Voltage Safety and diagnostics
  • Develop test specifications and test cases derived from system and functional requirements
  • Perform testing using HIL platforms and system test benches
  • Support integration testing, identifying interface issues between ECUs, software, and hardware
  • Analyse measurement data and logs to:
    • Assess functional behaviour
    • Identify root causes of failures
    • Verify compliance with system requirements
  • Produce clear test reports and validation documentation
  • Support issue tracking, troubleshooting, and resolution in collaboration with system, software, and hardware teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods, automation strategies, and test coverage
  • Support functional calibration activities when required

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree 2:1 or above
  • 5 Years experience or above in similar role
  • Experience in HV system and related regulations
  • Experience in HEV, PHEV, or BEV architectures
  • Expert in one or more of the HV system functions including Energy management, Thermal management, Charging control, Torque management, and High voltage safety
  • Create test specifications based on HV system requirements
  • Execute test cases in vehicle and test benches
  • Analyse measurements and create test reports
  • Support trouble shooting and issue management
  • Experience in functional calibration is a plus
  • Experience in test case automation on test benches is a plus
  • Experience in big data analysis
  • Ability to overcome cultural barriers
  • Demonstrate strong customer, team & supplier management skills
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to manage time effectively under tight and rigid deadlines
