As a Component-Level Test & Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for validating individual HV powertrain and charging components to ensure functionality, durability, performance, and compliance. The role focuses on component test benches and laboratory testing, supporting component development, issue resolution, and design optimisation for electrified powertrains.
Activities
- Plan and execute component-level test and validation for HV powertrain and charging components such as:
- Battery systems and modules
- Electric motors
- Inverters and power electronics
- On-board chargers and DC/DC converters
- Functional behaviour
- Thermal performance
- Efficiency
- Safety and protection strategies
The Company is open to considering alternative engagement arrangements, including a self-employed basis, subject to mutual agreement.
Requirements
- Engineering degree 2:1 or above
- 5 Years experience or above in similar role
- Experience in HV system and related regulations
- Experience in HEV, PHEV or BEV architectures
- Expert in one or more of the HV system functions including Energy management, Thermal management, Charging control, Torque management and High voltage safety
- Create test specifications based on HV system requirements
- Execute test cases in vehicle and test benches
- Analyse measurements and create test reports
- Support trouble shooting and issue management
- Experience in functional calibration is a plus
- Experience in test case automation on test benches is a plus
- Experience in big data analysis
- Ability to overcome cultural barriers
- Demonstrate strong customer, team & supplier management skills
- An ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to manage time effectively under tight and rigid deadlines
