Area: Electrical Engineering (Lighting)
- Lead and coordinate the lighting project across engineering, production and supplier teams.
- Manage task distribution within the EDAG project team, ensuring smooth collaboration and clear responsibilities.
- Serve as the technical interface to the customer, including onsite support if issues arise during vehicle assembly.
- Monitor and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Manage cross-functional teams from concept to launch.
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to integrate lighting solutions into vehicle designs for oncoming vehicles.
- Expertise in selecting and optimizing lighting technologies.
- Ensuring compliance with OEM standards.
- Achieving aesthetic and functional objectives.
- Deliver exterior lighting commodity plan to achieve on-time program milestones with 100% design release adherence.
- Manage supplier design and validation activities.
- Support ECU software integration and vehicle validation, enabling 100% functional compliance across ECU networks.
- Coordinate R48, FMVSS 108 certification and on-road validation.
- Own and deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time.
- Liaise with OEM Engineering /Manufacturing departments throughout the development and launch process.
- Achieve all certifications vehicle and components requirement.
- Lead suppliers to assist in concept/production ready design & development requirements.
- Manage product launch till J1+90.
- Ensure all appropriate standards and requirements are met throughout the development process.
- Resolve issues with component and sub-system engineering and vehicle attribute teams, to develop designs that meet targets.
- Contribute to the development of product specification books, test plans, DVP&R, DFMEA, Control Plans and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Identify risks, initiate corrective actions and proactively solve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct product evaluation and design reviews during prototype and pre-production development phases.
- Develop prototypes for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Ensure all program targets, including Piece Cost, ED&D Budget, Timing, Weight and Quality, are met.
- Other tasks as assigned by your manager.
The Company is open to considering alternative engagement arrangements, including a self-employed basis, subject to mutual agreement.
Requirements
- Knowledge of automotive lighting systems, standards and validation processes.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive industry.
- Proven project coordination or team leadership experience in an automotive environment.
- Degree educated in relevant field.
- ECUK registration would be beneficial.
- Minimum five years of related Project Engineer experience within automotive lighting industry.
- Experience of CATIA V5, PLM system and electrical documentation.
- Effective teamwork skills in a global team environment.
- Effective in solving quality challenges.
- Automotive Product Development Processes (V-model).
- High level of analytical ability, where problems are unusual and difficult.
- Proven body engineering experience within a matrix organization.
- MS-Office proficiency.
- Willingness to travel to customer location as required, local and global.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with German as a plus.
