Working directly with a founder to build a food media brand.
Location: London based, with occasional travel
Contract: Full time, permanent (following initial 6-month fixed-term contract)
Salary: £30k - £35k depending on experience, with scope for material increases in-line with the growth of the business, and potential non-salary benefits for the right long-term fit.
My name is Ed, and I am building and scaling a food and cooking media brand. I left my corporate job of 5+ years in 2025 to follow my passion for food and go all-in on content creation. Last September I had 24k followers, and I have since scaled this to c. 300k followers across channels in the last 8 months with both long form and short form videos. I am now looking for someone to build this with me - a shooter / editor, creative co-director, and brand builder to bring the audience, and ultimately the brand, to the next level.
This isn’t your average agency role executing on restrictive client briefs. This is a role where you and I work together to build something from the ground up, and where you have the creative freedom over how the content looks, feels, and grows. It is all about getting good quality content out and doing it relentlessly.
I have two key missions:
- Mission 1: build my audience from big to massive;
- Mission 2: develop my audience into one (or multiple) scalable businesses, in the food industry or otherwise.
What you’ll be doing:
- Editing all content:
- 1-2 high quality, long-form YouTube videos every month - initially working on my existing YouTube series, with further co-created series to follow.
- Multiple, engaging short-form (c. 1 minute) videos every week across IG / TT / YT Shorts.
- Filming with me on location in London for both short-form and long-form videos.
- Shaping how the channel looks and feels - style, formats, series, brand-feel.
- Travelling to film shoots outside London, in the UK and abroad.
- Keeping footage, projects, and archives organised and stored.
What I am looking for:
- Proven editing skills in Premiere Pro across all typical formats in short form and long form for IG / TT / YT.
- A strong ability for visual storytelling, music, and pacing.
- Comfortability with organising high volumes of raw footage and working at pace.
- A strong understanding of social media and how it works.
- A genuine interest in food (not mandatory, but the more the better).
- The ability to add graphics in Adobe After Effects (good but not essential).
- The ability to confidently operate a camera (both iPhone and digital) on location.
- A desire to take creative ownership of their work.
- The drive to build and scale the brand, taking a long-term mission statement and getting there by any means necessary.
This role will be predominantly based in London for editing, with shoots and on-location work in / around London and with the possibility of wider travel.
If you have read this far, you will already know whether this role is for you. It is not a conventional opportunity, and it is not designed to appeal to everyone. This is an opportunity to take on a creative co-founder role in an early stage growth journey, with creative autonomy over what that journey ultimately looks like, with very little risk on your part.
Here’s the deal: I take the risk (you receive a market-rate agency salary) and together we set out to grow something great. What I ask from you is: talent, hunger, and the ambition to make this a success together. If we succeed, we both win, and there is a material opportunity to take this down lots of exciting paths in the future. As a result, it’s key that I find the right person. Is it you?
