About the Business: This is a smashing role with a top class, family owned, historic, British premium food company. If you are a foodie, then this is without a doubt one for you. This is a business and set of people who leave no stone unturned in delivering unwavering quality to our supermarket shelves & to us the consumers. A business that has been in operation for several generations with nostalgic brands and some phenomenal new success stories across retail are looking at their next stage of growth. They have already invested significant capex in a new factory, further warehousing & infrastructure. In the last 6 years they have grown by a third to north of Β£120million turnover, delivering significant profit which has led to this self-funded, seven figure investment keeping this business debt free.
The next port of call, now the infrastructure is in place, is to add to their brilliant team who boast resumes from the likes of Unilever, Coca Cola, Brakes, & AB World Foods. They are a great bunch who enjoy the thrill of the commercial chase, growing sustainable & robust businesses and empowering people to really deliver best in class consumer products.
As a result of all of this great stuff, we are hiring a top notch new, Grocery Retail National Account Manager.
The Role: Senior National Account Manager β Grocery. This is an all-encompassing role in this dynamic and multi branded business. You will also be responsible for strategy with true ownership and manage a direct report. We require a Senior National Account Manager to come in and continue to drive the Grocery channel with key partnership customer across branded product and Own Label. The growth will come from increasing distribution through the current product portfolio and 2 new brand acquisitions as well as significant NPD in OL. They already have the relationships in place, so this is about delivery.
You must have food or beverage experience with a strong understanding of Grocery, High Street or Discount/Value Retail. You will full responsibility for the growth of your customers and a keen eye for growth.
About You: To be successful we need a passionate team player who exudes positivity and a can-do attitude. This is a business focused on strong values and sustained growth so the focus on doing the right thing is a must. You will already have a strong background in large, branded consumer business and have experienced multiple rotations within the Grocery, High Street or Discount/Value Retail sector. Food or consumer brand experience is essential here own label would also be welcome. This is a business of foodies who have some of the most fantastic products in their categories sold to Tesco and Michelin starred restaurants. Category data and insight led working is key to continuing the customer success story they have here too and remember this is not a big business itβs more like a start up in nature, agility, speed and being able to don more than one hat is key here.
What you need to bring:
- Experience in a sales or retail buying roles.
- National Key Account experience in a branded or own label FMCG business.
- Experience of food is ideal.
- Grocery, High Street or Discount/Value Retail customer experience is essential.
- Positive team player.
- Strong relationship skills, both internally and externally to entice people.
- SME mindset - don multiple hats.
