We're recruiting for an IT Support Technician to work within a Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Centre environment. This is a hands-on, technically varied role supporting business-critical IT systems during customer rehearsals and live recovery scenarios.
You'll be responsible for ensuring the recovery centre is operational, technically ready, and capable of supporting customers during high-impact events. This role offers exposure to infrastructure, networking, Windows environments, and customer-facing incident support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to customers during recovery rehearsals and live invocations
- Support desktop, hardware, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues
- Attend pre-test meetings and produce pre- and post-test documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents through to completion
- Support relocation and invocation activity at customer sites when required
- Assist with the implementation of services for new customers, including IT and communications installations
- Act as a failover support resource to other regional recovery centres
- Ensure full functionality of site facilities including UPS, generators, air conditioning, lighting, and connectivity
- Provide out-of-hours and on-call support as part of a 24/7 rota
- Maintain technical documentation, site guides, and user guides
- Support health & safety, site security, and compliance requirements
- Monitor and report potential security or fraudulent activity in line with company policies
- Windows desktop support (Intel/Windows environments)
- Experience using imaging tools such as Symantec Ghost
- Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
- Understanding of networking concepts, including switches and routers
- Exposure to voice and data communications
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience supporting hardware, peripherals, and connectivity
- Ability to work in a structured, process-driven technical environment
- Professional, presentable, and customer-focused
- Confident communicating with internal teams and external customers
- Comfortable working under pressure in live incident scenarios
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an on-call rota due to it being an environment that operates 24/7
- Strong work ethic with a proactive mindset
